A legacy forged in steel
Formed in 1897 by dedicated WAGR foundry workers, the "Railways" team was a diverse yet modest mix of young men. They sought an escape from the daily grind of strenuous work, building our vital railway lines across Western Australia. This foundation built on hard work and camaraderie is the bedrock of the Midland Tigers Football Club today.

Our humble beginnings
From the dust and sweat of the workshops emerged a spirit of unity and competition. Our founders, with their hands calloused from shaping steel, found a different kind of strength on the footy field. This era laid the groundwork for the enduring resilience and mateship that defines the Tigers, connecting us intrinsically to the industrial heart of early Perth.

A community's heart
Over the decades, the Midland Tigers grew from a workers' team into a cornerstone of the Perth community. Our club became a gathering place, a source of local pride, and a pathway for generations of families to connect through the love of footy. We are more than just a club; we are a vibrant part of Perth's social fabric, building connections that last a lifetime.

The spirit of the tigers
While specific artifacts and early photos are treasured, the true heritage of the Midland Tigers lies in our unwavering spirit and unique traditions passed down through the years. From the roar of our fans to the dedication of our players, this legacy fuels our passion. Our history isn't just a tale of the past; it's a living, breathing part of every game, every cheer, and every new member.
"Playing for the Tigers isn't just about the game; it's about being part of something bigger. You feel the weight of over a century of history in every jumper, every cheer. It’s a real Perth tradition."
